Neighbourhood Voices -
Stories for Change
Key Health Messages and Creativity
Captain's Leg Collaboration is led by Marie Greenhalgh. Currently, Marie is working in partnership with Manchester Local Care Organisation (MLCO) leading an innovative project entitled, Neighbourhood Voice - Stories for Change.
This initiative focusses around key health messages identified as priorities in Wythenshawe. The project outcomes will feature engaging monologues, a captivating short film, and an immersive soundscape, all crafted through the collaborative efforts of the project leader, local actors, creatives, and the health promotion team.

Connecting Local Creatives
Join us in a unique opportunity to bring powerful stories to life! We are calling on local actors to perform monologues inspired by narratives from residents affected by key health priorities in our community. We're also seeking collaboration with sound technicians, filmmakers, producers and directors who live, work or have an interest in Wythenshawe, to share in the creative process. This will be a funded project and expenses and daily rates will be negotiated. Let's create meaningful change together!
Message Marie if you are interested in supporting the stories for change.

Marie Greenhalgh
Marie's life long connection to the community of Wythenshawe.
Marie is a well known member of the Wythenshawe community with a life long connection to the area. In her early years she attended St. John Fisher and St. Thomas Moore Primary School (Jonnies) alongside her brothers and sisters. She started her working life as a serving police officer at Brownley Road Police Station and went on to teach in local colleges. Marie had a term of office as the Chair of Governors at Jonnies. Her father, who was deputy head for many years, retired in the 1980s. Marie chooses to use the name (Captain's Leg Collaboration) for her projects as a sort of legacy to her father who was a Captain in the Parachute regiment during WW2 and a very active volunteer in the area.
Currently, Marie is celebrating 15 years as the founder, chair and a volunteer with Wythenshawe Good Neighbours. She can be heard on WFM97.2 local radio every Monday morning from 10am until midday too. Marie continues to make a positive impact in her community through her creativity.
